Principal Guest Conductor of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Christian Arming as Principal Guest Conductor of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR).

Here is a statement from the NOSPR:

„In the 2026/2027 artistic season, Christian Arming will join the ranks of artists associated with the NOSPR, assuming the role of Principal Guest Conductor of our orchestra.

This is the beginning of a new chapter and the harbinger of exceptional musical encounters. His artistic sensitivity, experience, and repertoire versatility will accompany us in the upcoming season.“

„Since 2006 I have had a special connection with the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR).

Therefore it is a great joy and a tremendous honor for me to assume the position of Principal Guest Conductor of NOSPR starting in September 2026.

I truly love making music with NOSPR and we are going to work together on exciting programmes in the coming seasons. This fantastic orchestra, which has a strong artistic identity supported by an extraordinary concert hall at its home in Katowice, feels already like a family to me, and I greatly value our collaboration.

Japan-tour with Sinfonia Varsovia

Christian Arming will be touring Japan with Sinfonia Varsovia at the beginning of October. The programme includes Beethoven’s Fidelio Overture Mozart's Symphony No. 40, Dvorak's Symphony No. 8 as well as Chopin's Piano Concertos Nos. 1 and 2, with Aimi Kobayashi and Ivo Pogorelich as soloists.

Opening concert of the Janacek International Festival

On June 2, 2025, Christian Arming will conduct the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra in the opening concert of the International Leoš Janáček Festival in Ostrava, the most important classical music festival in the Czech Republic (*). The programme includes Janáček's Sinfonietta and Beethoven's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra (soloist: Jan Mráček).

(*) Léoš Janáček was born in 1854 in Hukvaldy (30 km from Ostrava) and died in 1928 in Ostrava.

Welcome Maestro!

I am delighted that Christian Arming has entrusted me with his personal management. As a leading conductor of his generation, who enjoys a great career, Christian Arming has been a familiar name to me for over 25 years. He is guest conductor of numerous major orchestras worldwide and was for many years chief conductor of the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, with which he has remained in close contact. Since May 2024 he has been chief conductor of the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra.

In Asia, Christian Arming is and will remain represented by Kajimoto in Tokyo and I look forward to working with this renowned agency.
