The first Verdi

Lucian Krasznec has fallen ill during the final rehearsals and therefore, unfortunately could not sing the opening night of the Dortmund La Traviata-production. His role-debut as Alfredo: December 6th, 2015

It is certainly every lyric tenor’s desire and ambition to enter the Verdian repertory. Verdi’s vocal standards fulfil any tenor’s dreams, irrespective whether it concerns the role of the Duke in Rigoletto or Fenton in Falstaff or Alfredo in La Traviata. This is also Lucian Krasznec’s perception when he now sets about capturing his first Verdi role ever. His Nemorino in Donizettis L’elisir d’amore two seasons ago can be seen as the musical forerunner.

At the Dortmund Opera House the curtain raises for the new-production of Verdi’s La Traviata on November 28th, 2015 with Motonori Kobayashi at the conductor’s desk. The staging comes from Tina Lanik who developed her first opera-production at the Frankfurt Opera last season after previously having stage-managed numerous drama-productions. Lucian Krasznec’s partner on stage is soprano Eleonore Marguerre as Violetta Valery. These two artists already created magic moments for the Dortmund audience as Fiordiligi and Ferrando (Cosi fán tutte), Poppea and Arnalta (L’incoronazione di Poppea), Belmonte and Konstanze (The Abduction from the Seraglio) and as Donna Anna and Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni).
