After causing enthusiasm with both public audience and press by creating a self-confident and modern Micaëla within the new production of Carmen at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence („Elsa Dreisig caresses with her round timbre and enchants with her noble vocal style“ – La Croix, Emmanuelle Giuliani), Elsa Dreisig is concluding the summer season with a spectacular last-minute replacement - once again causing a sensation - in Haydn’s The Creation under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle for the opening of the Berlin Philharmonic season. This program can subsequently be heard at the Salzburg Festival, at the Lucerne Festival and at the Paris Philharmony.
Having been closed due to renovation for several years, the time of the re-opening of the Berlin State Opera Unter den Linden has finally come! In order to celebrate this historical moment, Daniel Barenboim will be conducting, Jürgen Flimm will be directing and Elsa Dreisig will be singing the part of Gretchen in Schumann’s Szenen aus Goethes Faust. Opening night on October 3, 2017.
