Following some performances of Die Fledermaus Anja-Nina Bahrmann enters another series of Der Bettelstudent (The Beggar Student) creating the role of the haughty, aristocratic Laura Nowalska, a role which she already performed within the opening of the new-production at the Vienna Volksoper last year. The operetta-genre is a challenge of equal standing for the soprano, although managing to display her special merits particularly in leading opera-roles. The current season opened with her first ever Antonia in The Tales of Hoffmann and the up-coming season will hear her role debut as Amalia in Verdi’s I Masnadieri as well as a series of La Traviata in which she will be performing her favourite role Violetta Valery again.
Within the present series of The Beggar Student as from May 3rd 2017 Anja-Nina Bahrmann will meet Lucian Krasznec again, the original cast of Symon from last season’s premiere-production who is getting back to the Vienna Volksoper for this series too.
