Concert at the Salle Gaveau with Jean-Philippe Rameau and Sabine Devieilhe

A few months ago, Alexis Kossenko and his ensemble Les Ambassadeurs made sensation at the occasion of the release of their Rameau recording with Sabine Devieilhe (Erato). Here are some of the press extracts:

"Alexis Kossenko is one of the most fascinating baroque conductors of our days. In the way of an inspired "ambassador", he displays all his know-how as a flutist (three soli) and as conductor with an invigorating energy, not shying away from the picturesque effects of the percussions and knowing how to shape the dancing rhythms and how to revive the orchestral colours." (Classica, December 2013)

"Alexis Kossenko effervesces in accents, tensions and necessary respiration together with his young orchestra. Already the intelligence of the character (what a programme, what well-thought-out sequences!) deserves respect." (Diapason - November 2013)

"To be indispensably associated to this huge success are Les Ambassadeurs with their admirable style and sonorous beauty of the sound as well as the wonderful musical direction of Alexis Kossenko with his good taste and efficiency." (Les Echos - 30 October 2013)

"As overwhelming complices of an accurate discourse, the instrumentalists of Les Ambassadeurs seduce with their same mellow expressivity, accordingly insistent or supple; here is a Rameau who is not only articulated, rhythmically sparkling and cheeky, sensually exquisit and dramatically constructed: the visibly congenial interpreters live this Rameau with absolutely convincing profundity and pure elegance. " (Classique News - October 2013 )

"What a posture, what an intelligence of the style!" (Forum Opera - 25 November 2013)

"Alexis Kossenko, equally known as remarkable flutist, is a subtle and enthusiastic accompanist." (OPERA MAGAZINE - November 2013)

Les Ambassadeurs, Alexis Kossenko and Sabine Devieilhe will give a concert at Salle Gaveau on 29 April 2014 (20.30 pm.) where they will present a great scope of the programme they recorded for their CD of music by Rameau.
