Short Biography

After studying piano, organ and opera at the Bourges Conservatoire, Aimery Lefèvre attended the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles, the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon and the Atelier Lyrique de l'Opéra national de Paris.

He made his stage debut at the Opéra de Lyon in Dido and Aeneas (Aeneas) and then at the Opéra de Paris in Platée (Momus). He has also performed at venues such as the Opéra National du Capitole in Toulouse, the Opéra de Rouen, the Opéra national de Lorraine, the Opéra de Tours, the Opéra de Rennes, the Opéra de Lille, the Opéra Grand Avignon, the Atelier lyrique de Tourcoing, the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg, the Royal Opera House in London, the Glyndebourne Festival and the Teatro Municipal in Santiago, Chile. He has participated in the world premieres of Philippe Hurel's Les Pigeons d'argile at the Capitole de Toulouse and Benjamin Attahir's Paysage dans l'oubli at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera and in Hanoi.

In concert, he has performed with Les Folies Françoises, La Simphonie du Marais, Le Concert d'Astrée, L'Ensemble Matheus, Le Concert Spirituel, Les Talens Lyriques, Le Cercle de l'Harmonie, Les Ambassadeurs - La grande écurie and has collaborated with conductors such as Bruno Campanella, William Christie, Mark Elder, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Emmanuelle Haïm, Marc Minkowski, Hervé Niquet, Evelino Pidò, Christophe Rousset and Jean-Christophe Spinosi.

Praised for his "admirably colourful and resonant voice, both noble and playful" (Classicnews) and described as a "delightful actor" (Concertclassic), Aimery Lefèvre has built his career on the major opera stages in France and internationally, with a constantly renewed curiosity and a particularly eclectic repertoire.

He first studied piano and organ before taking up opera singing at the Bourges Conservatoire, then quickly joined the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles. He was then admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon, where he obtained his diploma before joining the Atelier Lyrique of the Opéra national de Paris.

He made his stage debut in Lyon in the role of Aeneas (Dido and Aeneas). He subsequently performed at the Opéra de Tours (The Rape of Lucretia), the Opéra de Rennes (Cosi fan tutte) and the Amphitheatre of the Opéra Bastille (Il matrimonio segreto, L'enfant et les sortilèges, Les Aveugles by X. Dayer).

Two productions marked his debut at the Paris National Opera: Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Fiorello) and Platée (Momus) in Laurent Pelly's legendary production. Since then, he has performed at the Royal Opera House in London (L'Etoile by Chabrier), the Opéra national de Paris (Hippolyte et Aricie), the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg (Carmen), the Glyndebourne Festival (Hippolyte et Aricie), the Teatro Municipal in Santiago, Chile (Lakmé), the Lille Opera (L'incoronazione di Poppea), the Dijon Opera (Carmen, L'incoronazione di Poppea), the Opéra de Tours (L'italiana in Algeri), the Opéra Grand Avignon (Don Giovanni, Carmen), the Opéra de Rouen (La Cenerentola), the Opéra national de Lorraine (L'amour des trois oranges) and the Atelier lyrique de Tourcoing (Le monde selon Mozart). He is also a regular guest at the Théâtre National du Capitole, where he can be heard in Les Indes Galantes, La Belle Hélène, Un ballo in maschera, Castor et Pollux, Béatrice et Bénédict, L'italiana in Algeri, La Clemenza di Tito and in the world premiere of Philippe Hurel's Les Pigeons d'argile.

He recently sang at the Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi Opera Houses for the premiere of Benjamin Attahir's opera Paysage dans l'oubli (libretto by Olivier Dhénin) and sang his first Escamillo (Carmen intime) with the Avignon Opera.

In 2024/25, he could be heard singing contemporary music in Le jardin d'Afrique and Légendes by Benjamin Attahir, respectively at the Atelier lyrique de Tourcoing and the auditorium of the Musée Guimet in Paris, at the Avignon Opera in Les Folies amoureuses by Castil-Blaze, as well as in Dvorak's Stabat Mater, Beethoven's 9th Symphony, and Brahms' Requiem. He also performed the clock and the cat in L'enfant et les sortilèges at the Ravel Festival in Saint Jean de Luz.

He has performed in concert throughout Europe with ensembles such as the Toulon Opera Orchestra, the Orchestre National du Capitole, Les Folies Françoises, La Simphonie du Marais, Le Concert d'Astrée, Ensemble Matheus, Le Concert Spirituel, Les Talens Lyriques, Le Cercle de l'Harmonie, Les Ambassadeurs - La grande écurie. He has given recitals at the Athénée Théâtre Louis-Jouvet, the Auditorium of the Louvre Museum and the Villa Medici in Rome. He has also been invited to La Scala in Milan and La Fenice in Venice for recitals by young singers.

Aimery Lefèvre has collaborated with conductors such as Bruno Campanella, William Christie, Mark Elder, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Emmanuelle Haïm, Marc Minkowski, Hervé Niquet, Evelino Pidò, Christophe Rousset and Jean-Christophe Spinosi.
