Two new positions!

We are delighted to announce that Arie van Beek is not only the new Music Director of the Orchestre des Pays de Savoie, but that next season he will also be Conductor in Residence of the Orchestre national de Cannes, with whom he has enjoyed a special relationship for many years.

These two complementary roles allow Arie van Beek to practise his profession in the way he prefers: by establishing himself over the long term and creating a framework conducive to a daily, personalised and in-depth dialogue with an orchestra. This is the best way for a conductor to leave his mark on an orchestra, to help it progress and develop its artistic identity.

Press release from the Orchestre des Pays de Savoie:

The Orchestre des Pays de Savoie is delighted to announce the arrival of Arie van Beek as Music Director of the Orchestra from September 2025.

With his communicative energy and passion for musical dialogue, he will breathe new life into the orchestra, with a desire to build bridges between all eras, all repertoires and all audiences.

Press release from the Orchestre national de Cannes:

Arie van Beek joins the Orchestre national de Cannes as Conductor in Residence. This partnership strengthens an already solid artistic relationship with the Dutch conductor, whose musical complicity with the ONC has grown stronger over the seasons.

A regular guest at the helm of the Orchestra, Arie van Beek has established himself as a loyal travelling companion, combining high standards, finesse and enthusiasm. His arrival in residence is an opportunity to build on this shared trust and explore new sonic territories.

In concrete terms? He will conduct seven series of concerts throughout the season, offering audiences in Cannes a wide variety of repertoires. The highlight of this collaboration will be a recording of rare works by Darius Milhaud, scheduled for October, which will enhance the ONC's discography and pay tribute to one of the most inventive composers of the 20th century.

A promising partnership, in the image of an orchestra in constant evolution.
