Triumph at the Opéra Comique

In this, still very difficult time, the opera-promoters are fully committed in order to render performances possible. In case artists are being positively tested in the morning, replacements need to be found still for the same evening’s performance. An appalling situation for everyone involved, especially of course for artists having fallen victims to the virus. However, also a chance for those who are called in order to fill in. Thus Perrine Madoeuf got the opportunity in December to introduce herself to the audience of the Opéra Comique (Paris) as Juliette (Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette). This chance turned out to be a triumph for her. Some short-cuts from reviews:

"Juliette by the name of Perrine Madoeuf, still almost unknown which she will be no more in the future. With powerful, well-carrying voice and blazing sound, the soprano creates the noble character of the tragic lover." (Le Monde)

"Perrine Madoeuf establishes herself with radiant charism and reliable technique." (La Croix)

"Perrine Madoeuf takes over the most challenging part lion-heartedly.” (Télérama)

"Perrine Madoeuf fills in superbly performing the outstandingly difficult role of Juliette which requests both brio and airiness as well as dramatic power.” (Bachtrack)

"Perrine Madoeuf as Juliette is fully devoted with body and soul to her all-consuming passion, performing with a stage-commitment which commands admiration, especially when considering that she had no more than one single day for the acquirement of gesture and staging-process in order to take over.“ (Olyrix)
