After celebrating the 150th anniversary of Georges Bizet's death by participating in a superb complete recording of his melodies (link to press excerpts here), Coline Dutilleul is simultaneously releasing two inspired and exciting recordings: „Au salon de Joséphine“ with Aline Zylberajch (pianoforte) and Pernelle Marzorati (harp) on the label Ramée-Outhere Music and „Lucie Vellère: the music comes as it likes“ with Justine Eckhaut (piano) and the Sonoro Quartet on the label Musique en Wallonie.
Press reviews:
„Despite the fame of certain composers (Paisiello, Méhul, Grétry), one does not expect to experience, in Joséphine's salon, under the auspices of Napoleon's first wife, something as exhilarating as the journey back in time that this brilliantly conceived and performed recorded offers (...). With her warm, supple tone and natural expression, mezzo-soprano Coline Dutilleul sometimes plays the mistress of ceremonies who dreams of the theatre (a breathtaking Vestale by Spontini, castrato coos that would make an emperor damned). The same quality of historical reconstruction is achieved by Pernelle Marzorati (a master of the harp) and Aline Zylberajch (who exploits the wild potential of an 1814 pianoforte). What a trio! (Pierre Gervasoni, Le Monde, 23-24.11.25)
„Double praise for Coline Dutilleul, the Belgian mezzo-soprano with a quicksilver voice and rare eloquence, who is releasing two albums in the same week.“ (Xavier Flament, L'écho, 21.11.25)
„Coline Dutilleul's clear, expressive voice, always attentive to the text.“ (Nicolas Blanmont, La Libre Belgique, 20.11.25)
„The Belgian mezzo-soprano proves to be the ideal interpreter of these works, which require a balance between the “sensitive” naturalness befitting the intimate setting of the salon and the artistry necessary to capture the attention of today's listener, particularly through her perfectly executed ornamentation. This balance is evident from the outset, but Coline Dutilleul does not shy away from using a much broader, more dramatic palette, as the programme includes authentic opera arias by Grétry, Méhul and Paisiello, and even an excerpt from La Vestale." (Première Loge, Laurent Bury, 15.11.25)
„Mezzo-soprano Coline Dutilleul, harpist Pernelle Marzorati and fortepiano player Aline Zylberajch bring warmth, grace and authenticity to this evocative programme. The result is a musical tableau that captures the beauty, passion and sensitivity of an era when art and emotion flourished in harmony under Josephine's patronage.“ (Jazz Messengers, November 2025)
