Although the world is still in the middle of the Corona-crisis, musical life is going on! Which is indeed good news! In Catania, the town where Vincenzo Bellini was born, a new festival has been launched under the title „Bellini Renaissance“. Sergio Alapont will be joining this new festival as a guest-conductor. On September 25th he will conduct choir and orchestra of the Teatro Massimo Bellini within a „Gran Gala Lirico“. Soloists of the comprehensive Bellini-programme will be Desiree Rancatore (soprano), Laura Polverelli (mezzo-soprano), Shalva Mukeria (tenor) and Carmelo Corrado Caruso (bass). By the way, this is already Sergio Alapont’s 4th commitment with Catania’s Teatro Massimo Bellini!
The magazine GBopera appointed him as “best conductor of the year 2016“ in Italy and he emerged victoriously from the City of Granada Conducting Competition. It’s no wonder that Sergio Alapont is considered to be one of the leading conductors of his generation! The conductor from Spain is already pursuing a brilliant international career and we are delighted of his decision to join our artists’ roster.
