The Mariinsky Theatre invited Facundo Agudin to conduct Gounod's Faust at short notice on 30 October 2014 and the result of the "test of fire" was convincing. As a consequence of his success, Facundo Agudin has been reinvited to conduct at the Mariinsky further performances of Faust during this season. This is a well deserved recognition for this first-class conductor and hopefully the start of a long-term collaboration with this prestigious institution.

With his CD "Nuevo Tango Nuevo", newly released by Oehms, Facundo Agudin, of Argentine roots and European education, presents us in a masterly way that the tango is a sage music maintained by fascinating composers - in this case Marcelo Nisinman, Julio Vieira and Pablo Ortiz, who present in this CD a work in world premiere.
