The collaboration with the Mariinsky goes on

The Mariinsky Theatre invited Facundo Agudin to conduct Gounod's Faust at short notice on 30 October 2014 and the result of the "test of fire" was convincing. As a consequence of his success, Facundo Agudin has been reinvited to conduct at the Mariinsky further performances of Faust during this season. This is a well deserved recognition for this first-class conductor and hopefully the start of a long-term collaboration with this prestigious institution.

Tango as art music

The tight bonds between Europe and Argentina are known since the 19th century, the tango being one of them. Born in the melting pot of the popular suburbs of Buenos Aires and imported to Europe by the Argentine sailors, the tango aroused an extraordinary hype - especially in Paris - and its music has constantly been developed since the 20th century. With his CD "Nuevo Tango Nuevo", newly released by Oehms, Facundo Agudin, of Argentine roots and European education, presents us in a masterly way that the tango is a sage music maintained by fascinating composers - in this case Marcelo Nisinman, Julio Vieira and Pablo Ortiz, who present in this CD a work in world premiere.
